I know I literally sent a newsletter yesterday but you’ll have to forgive me because I have EXCITING PUBLISHING NEWS! My next thriller, Sisterhood Above All, has been acquired by Saturday Books (Macmillan) and is scheduled for publication in spring 2026!
Sisterhood Above All is set during a particularly ruthless sorority recruitment and features all the excitement, tension, and less-than-healthy competition of rush … plus a side of murder! It’s been a blast to write — especially because I haven’t been doing it alone. I’m collaborating with Amayah Shaienne, who you may recognize as @mayahshai from TikTok.
If you know me in real life, you probably know I’m a little fratty. I pledged Alpha Gamma Delta as an undergrad at the University of Illinois, where I was our chapter’s VP Campus Relations and also the campus Panhellenic’s VP Internal. (Type-As are going to Type-A, you know.) And then after graduation, I worked for Alpha Gamma Delta International as a leadership consultant, which means I traveled around to collegiate chapters to help with recruitment, provide leadership training, and generally keep them out of trouble. It was weird and fun and all these years later, I still randomly get “For Pep and Vitality” running through my head. (E pi, ladies.)
Truly, some of my closest friendships were forged in the Alpha Gam castle, and it’s been a trip to revisit that time while working on this book with Amayah.
This should probably go without saying, but just in case lol: Nothing more nefarious than a missing shoe or two has happened at either Amayah’s or my chapters. I can’t say the same for the women in this book though … 😈 Keep an eye on this space and our socials, and we’ll share more details about the book and its publication when they’re available!
(PS: Thanks to all who came out to Noir at the Bar last night! By coincidence, I read my short story about sorority girls behaving badly—if you missed it, check it out here in Electric Literature!)
Signing off with a Chanel Oberlin gif because, well, it seems appropriate. 🖤 Until next time!
